About

The Philippine National Anti-Doping Organization (PHI-NADO) is the country’s recognized body accredited by WADA and SEARADO. The PHI-NADO works as an independent body responsible for the facilitation of control and prevention of doping in sports, and the sole organization permitted to carry-out anti-doping activities in the Philippines, in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code of 2021 and the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in sports.

MISSION

     To maintain the integrity of sports in the Philippines by

  1. Ensuring fair competition and a level playing field through implementation of anti-doping policies that comply with the World Anti-Doping Code (CODE 2021) and its International Standards;

  2. Protecting the health of Athletes through educational interventions that inculcate the value of clean sport in the pursuit of athletic excellence;

  3. Carrying out doping controls that respects the rights of athletes to participate in a Play TRUE, Play CLEAN, and Play FAIR sports environment.

  • Teams respect fair competition and their opponents by ensuring clean play

  • Athletes are ultimately responsible for any substance in their body (Principle of Strict Liability).

  • Support personnel must take responsibility for guiding athletes towards safe and fair practices.

  • Sport Institutions are responsible for providing education, monitoring, and enforcing compliance.

Board Resolution and Policies

The fight against doping in sports is a global effort of which the Philippines is a signatory starting with the 2003 Copenhagen Declaration on Anti-Doping in Sport, the 2005 UNESCO General Conference, the Ratification of the International Convention Against Sports by the Philippines in 2010, and the full representation and participation of the Philippines in the 2006 Southeast Asia Regional Anti-doping Organization (SEA RADO) - regional body responsible for implementing WADA doping controls and anti-doping education in the SEA region.

Organizational Structure

The entity designated as possessing the primary authority and responsibility to adopt and implement anti-doping rules in the Philippines, direct the collection of , manage test results as well as the conduct of hearings at the national level, and implement designed anti-doping education programs, and undertake social research relevant to anti-doping efforts.
